Zooply Guinea Pig Food in a convenient 10kg bulk packaging.
Zooply Guinea Pig Food is a high-quality diet for guinea pigs kept as pets.
These pellets contain a high proportion of fibers, essential for maintaining a good condition with a shiny coat. With added high doses of vitamin C, this food ensures that your guinea pigs receive all the nutrients they need. It prevents selective eating and is 100% plant-based, suitable for all ages.
Feeding Recommendation
Zooply recommends a feeding amount of 40 grams per day per animal.
It is important to remove the food within an hour after offering it. Guinea pigs should not have unlimited access to pellets. This practice helps improve the condition of your guinea pigs.
Offer Unlimited Hay
In addition to pellets, unlimited hay should be provided to guinea pigs.
The best hay for guinea pigs is low in protein and high in fiber, with a more stemmy texture. The more stemmy the hay, the less protein it will contain. Grass leaves are protein-rich, while the stems contain a lot of roughage. These fibers are crucial for the special digestive process in the guinea pigs' cecum. Good quality hay contributes to the health of guinea pigs.
A good choice for this is Zooply Meadow Hay or Zooply German Herbal Hay!

Information on Calcium in Guinea Pig Food
It is essential that guinea pig food contains the correct ratio of calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium. An optimal calcium-to-phosphorus ratio in guinea pig pellets is 1.5:1, with a magnesium content of 0.3% being most favorable.
Calcium, also known as 'lime,' can be relatively inexpensive and is sometimes added to feed in excessive amounts. An improper balance between calcium and phosphorus can lead to issues such as bladder stones or bladder sludge. Therefore, it is advised not to feed high-calcium green foods, such as alfalfa hay, continuously to avoid these complications.
