Beaphar Anti-Myiasis (Ivermectin 0.05%, skin spray, solution for rabbits and guinea pigs to prevent Myiasis (flystrike). Myiasis in rabbits and guinea pigs is mainly caused by feces or urine sticking to the back. This attracts flies to lay eggs. The maggots from the eggs eat through the skin and can cause blood poisoning or infections, which can lead to the death of the animal within 24 hours. Please note, this product kills the eggs and maggots of the fly that causes Myiasis, not the adult fly. Use of Anti-Myiasis is recommended during the period when the bluebottle fly is active. This is usually from April to November, depending on weather conditions. If you observe maggots on the animal, please contact a veterinarian immediately.
Instructions for use and dosage: Remove any feces and ensure good hygiene in the cage. Spray the correct amount (see table) on the back of the animal. Start from under the tail / between the hind legs. Then from the tail to the middle of the back. Bathing can reduce the effectiveness of the product. Dosage: Body weight in kg | Number of sprays 0.5 - 1.0 | 5 1.0 - 1.5 | 7 1.5 - 3.0 | 9 > 3.0 | 15 Treat monthly during the period when the bluebottle fly is active (usually from April to November depending on weather conditions). Do not repeat the treatment within 4 weeks.
